General Court Information - Building Regulations
Guns and other weapons are not permitted in the Toledo Municipal
Court Building, unless carried by law enforcement personnel
while on duty. All packages, purses, briefcases, etc., are
scanned by x-ray machine prior to entry. All individuals must
remove all items from their pockets and walk through a metal
detector. If a personal item is determined to be a possible
security threat, this item will be stored at the security
console and a claim ticket will be issued. The item may be
retrieved when exiting the building.
Neither food nor drinks are permitted in the courthouse. A snack
bar is located in the basement where visitors may purchase and
consume food. Animals are not allowed in the courthouse, unless
they are being used as trained guide animals, such as seeing-eye
dogs. Smoking in the courthouse is prohibited. While there is no
specific dress code for the building,
Local Rule 6 requires proper
clothing. Local Rule 6
prohibits anyone from impeding or disrupting the orderly conduct
of court business.
